In the last independence day, 🇳🇬 at 57, there were so many beautiful messages, amazing ones with goosebumps flying all over the social media space — I remember because I wrote a few of those too.

1 year gone and we’re here again, nothing improved, from the obvious — power, roads, education, infrastructure, health systems, minimum wage, NOTHING.

… today, we’re set to see more awesome good will messages from “Patriots”, with political icons on some of those text and to a large extant young people who do nothing pragmatic than wail on the cyber space all year round…

Dear Nigerians,

Do not fall for this cliché trend no more.

It is time to act

It is time to put out a solution

It is time to deliver a service in serving the masses, it is time to design a product that fits the need of the people, by solving real problems for everyday people.

RECOMMENDATIONs:

  1. Quit wailing on Facebook and seek creative ways to get your questions answered by utilizing the appropriate channels.

I hear alot of “hold our leaders accountable” have you ever asked yourself how this should be done? What legal line of action is set to guide this process? The leaders know that. you do not, for if you knew, you’d be doing it. But since you’re 😢 wolf and doing name callings, they are certain that they are safe.

Think about this for a second, and answer this question -what has our wails on Facebook brought the people thus far?

2. Get off your couch and join causes that seeks to address issues of social justice, human rights, equality among others.

I know this sounds like a lot and we young people do not want to do “alot” to rip maximum benefits buh this is your best chance to contribute to society.

Your love for 🇳🇬 is nothing without you contributing to society, particularly your local commmmunity and I don’t mean giving out rice at Christmas.

3. Lend your voice and give your time to meaningful actions, support civic rights and support meaningful. movements that seeks to improve the livelihood of yourself and others around you.

CALL TO ACTION:

Place your keypads on you left hand and swing the sword of your youth on the right.

In time, we might have to answer the question of what we did when we had the time and chance to contribute to society.

Let us not be found where our elders have brought us.

Only those who help shape the future can predict it
